Wine & Cheese Pairing: Prosecco & Parmigiano-Reggiano

Prosecco (my favorite sparkling wine) is derived from a variety of white grape grown in the Veneto region of Italy. Prosecco is dry and slightly acidic in its taste, however the full bodied flavor leaves a sweetness on the palate after each sip.

Prosecco is the best base for Bellinis (peach) or Mimosas (citrus) than a standard spumante champagne.

Parmigiano-Reggiano is a wonderful cheese to pair with Prosecco and not only for their shared Italian heritage. A good chunk of Parmesan cheese on my favorite Water Cracker or baguette slice is divine with a little aged Balsamic vinegar drizzled on top, paired with Parma Prosciutto and a glass of Prosecco. A delightful, Italian indulgence...all men out there take note and try this with a little candlelight and Miles Davis (the cool era). I guarantee you'll be in good standing for a very long time!

Enjoy!!!
