Restaurants in NYC have this down to a science. To give a frosted look to any standard glass, cylinder candle holder all you need is stiff tracing paper or velum, scissors and double sided tape. (NOTE: This technique works on wide or skinny cylinder holders.)
Determine and cut the width you'd like to cover on your candle holder (NOTE: Covering 3/4 of the holder gives a very chic look.)
Wrap the paper around the outside of the candle holder, trimming 95% the overlap.
Add double sided tape from top to bottom on both ends of the paper.
Attach one side directly to the holder
Make sure that the paper is even all the was
Complete the loop by adhering the other side
The end result is a warm glowing candle holder with a contemporary look.
NOTE: Using chic, decorative scrapbook paper also works...just make sure it's not heavy weight or the light will not shine through.
